Here in Doltry, automotive manufacturers are worried. Voters have voiced their concerns about automobiles and the impact they are having on the enviroment.
Many individuals say they're too noisy in the city, not to mention the pollution issues and the ever present fear of becoming a smog covered nation.
A mandatory poll performed by the government showed vast support from the people. Many have started making the conversion to bikes, scooters, or motorcycles as alternatives. The Doltryian government has in the past granted seed money to small shops to begin production of bikes, and some are calling foul. The Premier made his position known.
"This will allow Doltry to produce our own modes of transportation, lessening our dependence on large, multinational corporations, and foreign sources of energy. Earlier in the decade we made decisions to find other sources of fuel. From our earliest times we had relied on others for our fuel, but now, our grain can feed our food, and the trucks that transport it. This is a move to strengthen our nation, and in turn, our people."
Recently, the government has made it known that they wish to begin larger scale production of weapons and military grade hardware for export.
"We have been working on designs for many years, getting information from all of our citizens that have served, and the ones serving now," began Alexsander Dimas, Doltryian Minister of Defense, "I, for one, believe we need a rifle with a full size rifle round for longer range, and more kinetic energy transferred into a target on impact. Many people expressed the need for a longer barrel for improved accuracy. We removed the full auto function on the base rifle, keeping the weapon on semi-auto fire. We have also created an infantry machine gun on this platform for sustained fire, with a 60 round box magazine and a heavy barrel, along with an integrated bipod. We are also making some developments in the field of larger equipment, tracked, wheeled, rotored, and the like," he finished with a smile.
That brings into question the convenience of the legislation, as the government is looking to produce more revenue for the country. However, how long will the private industry last with practices like this happening? It will undoubtedly be a benefit for the people, but private industries may be chased away from branching to our fair country.
