"Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the first official stock market," William Dahlquist intoned. "I'm William Dahlquist. The goal of this game is to gamble on performances of 12 people in the NCAA March Madness Pick 'Em. Now, while the game is over, the scoring has just begun! Here's how it works:
We have the following contestants:
Vashna
Ray
Tony
The Candy Lane
Aersoldorf
Nate NBNS
Louisistan
Jesmonian Empire
Mutanatia
Cazalius Empire
Barry
Flemingisa
The object of the game is simple: The stock price is determined according to the average point total, with the exception of the first two rounds. More on that later. The average point total is then used to calculate stock prices. For every point above the average score, 10 points are added to the player's stock. Each point below, there are ten points subtracted from the player's score, with the bare minimum being a value of 1.
Right now, all stocks are valued at 100 points. You have 1,000 points to spare, so you can buy (right now) up to 10 stocks. You can sell at any point and cash out the points you make into tacos (every ten points is forth 5 tacos), or...you can reinvest them in the stock market. If you cash in, that's it, that portion of the money is gone.
If you own any stocks at the end, you will get 10 tacos per point.
Reminder: The actual contestants of the game can NOT participate as that would be insider trading
Here are the scores through Round One and, remember, all stocks are worth 100 until the East Bracket has finished updating.
Vashna: 120
Ray: 120
Tony: 110
The Candy Lane: 110
Aersoldorf: 110
Nate NBNS: 100
Louisistan: 100
Jesmonian Empire: 100
Mutanatia: 70
Cazalius Empire: 70
Barry: 0
Flemingisa: 0
After every round starting the second round, I will commentate and give advice as to what I think stock owners should do.
Thanks, and Good Luck!
