Hey guys! This is an idea I've been toying with since I downloaded OBS but didn't know what form I wanted it to take. I finally figured it out and I like this idea. I'm going to teach specific video games through a combination of text interaction and video tutorials to help anyone learn the games.
Basically I want this class to be geared toward the total noob, and to make his or her life easier in complicated or challenging video games. I'm hoping to do units on particular games based on class interest. I'm especially knowledgeable in the online multiplayer genre but I have dabbled just about everywhere. I'm somewhat limited by computing power and type (everything I do here is on a MacBook), but if anyone has an inclination to teach a game that I don't know about or can't teach I'm more than happy to let others teach as well.
Games I could teach at the moment:
osu!
League of Legends
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Sid Meier's Civilization V
Kerbal Space Program
Minecraft (mod-related stuff mostly, Voltz, Tekkit, etc or minigames; this would be more advanced since a lot of people have Minecraft knowledge)
Terraria (I'm still trying to learn this so it wouldn't be for a while)
Ater Nox has offered to teach as well:
Civ V
Age of Empires/Mythology series
XCOM
Mount and Blade
Kerbal Space Program
Prison Architect
Guild Wars 1/2
Cities Skylines
This is going to be a very open, discussion-based class. I'll make long posts every now and then with basic lectures over specific games, and eventually this thread might turn into just a coordination thread much like the WW games. Your level of involvement is up to you and if you have specific knowledge of a game that you don't, I don't have to be the only teacher! I like to learn too.
Shameless plugs for my game-related social media:

Twitch: twitch.tv/the1daygod
I don't stream or post videos often but I will more as I learn to use OBS and as I start teaching this class. YouTube will be a great place for me to make video tutorials of concepts I can't really explain through words. I hope that at least some people are interested in learning new or difficult games.
