I didn't have a favourite, since there were far too few fun songs this year. Though I think that Austria, Norway and the UK were definately the worst. Among the better were Greece and Spain I think, but they weren't good really. That the Swedish song did not work at all in English was very funny I think...

I agree, Det Gör Ont was much better than It Hurts. No Waterloo-esque success for that. I thought Lena Philipsson was really hot until I found out she was old enough to be my mother .
The Irish entry, shockingly enough, was very poor this year.
Hahah she's around 40 I think yes;D I wasn't really surprised with Ireland, I was expecting something like that... Then again I hardly know anything about eurovision... All I know is that last year the Austrian guy was really cool and that ABBA sort of got famous through the competition...

Well, I liked Ukraine a lot, so I can live with this outcome. Also, I think Cyprus, Spain and Germany weren't bad either. But ooh, that was such a dirty trick to show only the part where Germany went all wrong in the recap! Well, never trust a Eurovision Songcontest mod, we now see....
Worship the potato? The idea seemed silly to me. But then I thought, what else is more deserving of worship? It's simple, it comes from the earth, and it can kill you if you disobey it.

I think the Maltese were very much underrated. They had the best voices and one of the best songs, notwithstanding the fact that perhaps the show wasn't overly spectacular, but Cyprus got 5th place with that as well. It's only because Malta doesn't have any chummy neighbours is all.
Actually Cyprus officially finished 6:th... Malta was underrated, yes, but Israel had the best voice I think, didn't make it to the final though. As for Ukraine, I thought their performance was rather bondage-ish, with all the leatherclothing and whips, but I'm probably the only one...

American Idol nicked the idea from Eurovision. This was the original. Basically what it is is that different countries perform songs, and viewers from all over Europe vote in for their favourites. The votes are then compiled and points are awarded according to the number of votes received for each country.
Hope this helps!

Awesome, yet sometimes it doesn't work perfectly... I don't believe it's pure coincidence that Greece and Cyprus exchange max scores every year for example... and Sweden for example: we got 5 max scores this year, most of them from our neighbours...

And you would be right. ;D
The whole things a sham, the Baltic Block Vote is just winning it every year, its not about the singing. Its just pure politics. The best thing about it is Terry Wogan.
