This is a place to talk about all board games, whether you play IRL or online. You can discuss games and strategies, ask for recommendations or organise a friendly match online.
I occasionally play on en.boardgamearena.com/ and I know that there is a Tabletop Simulator on Steam. If anyone is interested in a game, let me know.

A brief story from the other week that people may find interesting.
So one of the newer games to hit the games table was Funemployed. Essentially, the point of the game is to attend a job interview and make a successful pitch as to why you should be employed. One player is the employer, and they reveal a black card with a type of job on it. The other players are then dealt four white cards, with various skills or items on it which they are to use in their pitch. They are given a brief chance to switch around their cards and then one by one make a short speech. The employer then chooses the best or funniest one as the winner and their new staff member.
Towards the beginning of the game, the round's employer draws the job 'Butler'. I check my hand, and I know luck is on my side. Two cards have caught my eye, Whiskey and Hungover, and I know what I have to do. I switch the other cards around and await my turn. When it gets to me, I take deep breath and channel the spirit of Barry the Butler (pun intended). I explain how my vast Bourbon Whiskey collection is sure to please my new employers thirst at any time of the night or day. I mention that I am constantly testing the contents of the collection (to ensure its high quality of course) and thus am always slightly hungover. But fear not, that just means I will not disturb my employer with bright lights or loud noises, as any proper butler should avoid. I then point out I have access to a rather large boat (another of my cards), and that what better life could my employer look forward to than crusing the tropics whilest being waited upon day and night. And finally, in between the drinking and cruising, I also have a pair of brass knuckles I can use to knock out any pirates or people trying to steal my drink.
And with such a passionate and accurate knowledge of the butlering life, it should come as no surprise that victory for the roumd was mine. A victory that was in no small part thanks to Barry the Butler himself, cheers mate.

Sounds like a fun game! However I personally enjoy Axis and Allies, it's a WWII strategy game with the US, UK, Germany, Russia, and Japan being the main nations throughout the several versions of the game. Of course the online form of the game brings about even more versions, specifically adding a WWI scenario, Napoleonic Revolutions, and a "570 BC(E)" map (which isn't that accurate to the time) along with a few other games.

Funemployed sounds fun! Kinda reminds me of another game I'd like to play (but haven't gotten a chance to yet): Snake Oil smile.amazon.com/Out-of-the-Box-1869/dp/B00AEB1R66 Basically, you make a pitch about why people should buy your questionable product.

Recently I've been playing a bit of One Night Ultimate Werewolf. It's a little different from regular werewolf, but it's pretty fun.
It's a bit late, but I picked up Blood Rage and Captain Sonar for Christmas. In Blood Rage you are a clan of Vikings running around fighting and pillaging at Ragnarok. Captain Sonar is a little like team based battleships, where each team is driving around their own submarine trying to discover and destroy the enemies sub.

I've heard of One Night Ultimate Werewolf before, in fact I think Aerso has it. I still personally enjoy Axis and Allies and the online version TripleA, my only problem is that the games take forever. I've never finished a game of Axis and Allies.

I've found Secret Hitler to be wonderfully enjoyable.
There are two sides: liberals and fascists, with one of the fascists being Hitler. Each round, a President and Chancellor are elected by the players. The President picks up three policy cards (policies are simply liberal or fascist, the effects come in tier form depending on how many are passed) and chooses one to discard. He then gives the two remaining cards to the Chancellor, who will then make the final decision.
The catch is that the liberals don't know who each other are. The fascists know who their allies are, but there are less of them, so they have to masquerade as liberals to gain trust. Another point of interest is that the fascists know who Hitler is, but Hitler does NOT know who the fascists are. Therefore, everyone is usually under suspicion. Liberals have to try and weed out the fascists, the fascists have to stay hidden and work together, and Hitler has to deduce who the fascists are and attempt to work with them.
There are two policy trees, one for each ideology. The liberal tree has no policy bonuses and is slightly shorter, whereas the fascist tree has bonuses ranging from seeing another player's role to killing another player.
Liberals win by completing their policy tree, OR by killing Hitler (this is risky though as you could accidentally kill a liberal, and it requires passing fascist policies to get there, which leads to more suspicion and division). Fascists win by either completing their policy tree OR by electing Hitler as Chancellor after passing three fascist policies.
It's a very fun game, and you can get into some pretty heated arguments. I know there's a version of it on Tabletop Simulator, there's a free printable version on their website, and I think there may be a physical version by now.

I haven't played it before, but Secret Hitler sounds a lot like the Resistance. We've played the Resistance on the forum before, so we could give Secret Hitler a go sometime. It might need to be rebranded though, the Hitler theme might not go across to well with everyone. 'Secret Mayor' perhaps...

Could be interesting, although from my experience, it's more of a live game, to be played online or in person. The extra layer you get from immediate denouncing and the deduction from people saying what comes to their mind rather than tailored and trimmed forum posts adds a lot to it.
Also I'm not sure how easily drawing the policy cards could be simulated. Some sort of random number generator could work I guess.
I'd certainly be willing to give it a go, if the mechanics could be transferred effectively.
The Resistance looks fun as well, could be cool to revive that.

I've picked up tabletop simulator off steam fairly recently if anyone else plays it.
I'm waiting for it to go on sale, but I expect it will soon.
