*****Official Announcement*****
It is with sadness that I must report that by a unanimous vote of 9-0 in the Council of Nine, the alliance between the region of Texas and the 10000 Islands has been dissolved. We thank Texas for their past help and we wish them well in the future.

The statement from Texas:
"***** State of The Region Address *****
May 29, 2004
We will keep this brief so as not to interfere with the parades or the festive spirit of the weekend. Texas and the 10000 Islands have officially disbanded their Alliance. While this is regrettable, we both felt it best we go our seperate ways. Texas has nothing but the utmost respect for our friends in the 10000 Islands and especially their Founder, The United States of Grub and Ambassador Nicholas of Ambassadorship. We wish them the best in all their future endeavors. We are sure the Texas Defense Forces will run into some of their old buddies while fighting the forces of evil on some battlefield in some far away region some day.
This change in status of relations with the 10000 Islands does not effect our other alliances with Wysteria, The Heartland and Nasicournia.
Any questions about this announcement should be addressed to Big Tex via telegram."

We asked Texas to eject two nations that were banned from the 10000 Islands and Texas would not honor our request despite us asking them a bunch of times. For that reason, the alliance ended. Negotiations lasted around a month, so this decision was not decided upon rashly.

I don't mean to play Devil's Advocate here, but why was it necesary for them to eject said nations? and is it maybe a bit extreme to dissolve our formal treaty with them because of this?

Nevermind, Grub posted a lengthy explanation on the RMB and answered all of my questions.
This was Grub's post in the RMB for all of you who missed it:
Texas harbors two traitorous nations. Even if both of the nations cease to exist tomorrow, the fact remains that Texas did not honor our simple request. Texas was our ally, yet did not act like it.
In the past, I have ejected nations at the request of foreign regions, and once, as a NationStates curtesy, even ejected a nation at the request of an invader region. This went beyond just the two nations, which was cause enough, but if an ally can't even help in such a simple matter, how would things stand if something more complex and difficult came up in the future? Allies are supposed to help their fellow allies should the need arise or if they ask for it. This is something that would take me about 5 minutes to decide upon if most any region, let alone an ally, would ask.
Texas knew the facts of the two enemy nations yet decided it was not it their best self interests to eject them. That is prefectly fine, but their decision carried a price and I am sure they knew that. The 10000 Islands gave Texas far more time than it would give to most any other region. This was a long process that ended today. I am not going to go into details about the two enemy nations, but if there were a 10000 Islands jail, they would both be incarcerated in it.
