FIBA EuroBasket, otherwise known as the European Basketball Championships, is upon us. The Qualification rounds last summer yielded 24 teams which will compete. The competition is in two phases. In the preliminary rounds, each team will play all the other teams in its group. After that the knockout phase begins. The best four teams from each group will move to the round of 16. From then on it's knockout (Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, Finals). Losers of the Semi-Finals will play for 3rd and 4th place.
So, how will betting work?
All players must sign up before the start of the tournament (August 30th at the latest) and pay a 500 Taco entrance fee. This money will be placed in the overall-pot. The player who has the most correct bets at the end of the tournament will win that pot. Nations for whom the entrance fee was waived are not eligible for that.
Throughout the tournament, we will bet on the Winners of the respective games. The money that was bet on a game will be divided between those who made the correct bet. If no one has made the right bet, the money will be added to the jackpot (see below). The money you have to bet per game will vary depending on the stages of the tournament:
Preliminary Round: 100 Tacos per game
Round of 16: 200 Tacos per game
Quarter-Finals: 500 Tacos per game
Semi-Finals: 2000 Tacos per game
3rd place game: 2000 Tacos
Finals: 5000 Tacos
In order to win the jackpot, you must do one of the following:
- Correctly bet on all games of one of the groups
- Correctly bet on all games of the Round of 16
- Correctly bet on all games of the Quarter Finals
- Correctly bet on all games of the Semi Finals
- Correctly bet on the Finals
You will then be paid out the jackpot as it stands after that respective round.
In the unlikely event that there is money remaining in the jackpot after the tournament has ended, that money will be invested and used to stack up jackpots in future games of this firm.
Lou Chance Gambling Enterprise will extend a line of credit to any players in need of financial assistance. If credit was granted, your winnings will first be used to clear your debt, and only the remainder will be paid out to you. Should you be so unfortuante that you will still owe us money at the end of the tournament, an individual payment arrangement will be made.
