I am saddened to report that due to the pacifistic leanings of the nation of Rent, Rent will no longer be a member of TITO. TITO is strictly a volunteer organization, so no one is required to stay a member.
Rent currently stands at 69 endorsements, second most in the region, and now the leading endorsement getter out of non TITO nations.
As should be clear, TITO stands for the freedom of nations within the 10000 Islands as well as the freedom of those unfairly attacked through no fault of their own in other regions. We do not go into battle to conquer, but to help. If it wasn't for the actions of TITO, many regions would currently be occupied or destroyed by nations that have no regard for the native nations.
It was through an attack at one time on the 10000 Islands that helped form our present day TITO. At that time we were just a small region of 30 or so nations. On that night we were attacked and just barely survived, winning by only one endorsement. If it wasn't for the actions of regions willing to help like Texas & the Urbanites, this region would have been destroyed and the native nations scattered. TITO fights against that. As an organization that is our goal; to allow us and others to live in freedom.
Thank you to all the current TITO members. We now stand right around 100 members and we are quite a force to be reckoned with.
As we prepare the constitution, the situation for Rent raises some interesting questions for us in Fleeb. We certainly respect Rent's position as a non-combatant, and absolutely agree that as such there is no point in being part of TITO. Other big questions loom, though:
1) If a UN nation, not in TITO, gains a large number of endorsements, should that nation really be eligible for UN delegate for the region? How can such a nation represent the region if they are not willing to shoulder the burdens of the defense of the realm?
2) If it is not proper for a non-TITO nation to be UN delegate, what is a fair way to ensure that?
We would really appreciate the thoughts of our brother and sister nations on this important subject. Our freedom and our future rests on the way we handle these questions.

I think it would be best that should that situation occur, people are respectfully asked to withdraw their endorsements, if this does not occur, the nation is respectfully asked to resign from the UN, if that does not occur, the nation is expelled from 10000 Islands. I know it sounds harsh, but we need our UN delegate, which is a quite powerful position in NS, seeing as to how we are the third largest region to be a member of TITO.

We like the graduated approach Odracir suggests--it respects the need for cooperation and freedom among our community while also being realistic about what leadership requires and the need for security. Not sure how you frame that in a constitution, but we can figure that out.

Odracir is sure that there is a way to write that into the Constituition. The Constitution can say that the UN delegate of the 10000 Islands must be a member of TITO. And should the situation occur where a non-TITO member receives enough endorsements, the three steps I mentioned will go into effect immediately. And I said, although step 3 and maybe even step 2 seem a bit drastic, our region's UN delegate is a very powerful person in the UN. They have at least 100 votes, that's a lot. And the UN delegate is in a way in charge of our region's security (as they can expel any invaders), so therefore they need to be a member of our region's defense organization, TITO.

Great Wyrley has been away from this forum for too long it seems!
We note with alarm the attitude towards Rent for not wanting to be a TITO nation. As far as we were aware TITO was a voluntary body - a coalition of the willing as it were. One we are currently proud to be a member of, even if we did leave the UN for a short period recently.
Let us not punish Rent for not wanting to be a combatant, going on extended 'away missions' severely damages a nations endorsements, and if endorsements are important to a nation, then TITO membership isn't always an option. Also morally there is nothing wrong with pacifism, it is a choice any nation should be allowed to make. The fact that Rent is not a TITO member means that when the majority of tito members are away ther will be at least one other strongly supported UN member guaranteed to be at home in the region, should there be any invasion attempt, something we should be happy for.
We must also point out that it would be impossible for a serving delegate to serve in TITO, as it would be foolish for a delegate to physically leave the region. So including that particular clause in the constitution would be pointless.
We should not penalise nations for not joining TITO, if this makes it into the constitution, we would have to seriously consider whether we could support such a constitution, and as a serving TITO member and proud member of 10000 Islands we would be saddened to feel forced into this position.
The UN delegate wouldn't leave the nation physically. However, as a member of TITO they would have TITO's best interests in mind. I feel it is essential to have the UN delegate be a member of TITO.

This region stands for freedom and the freedom of others to rule themselves. Pacifism is not against the law, and TITO membership is indeed voluntary, but as a representative, I personally would want that delegate to have the true intentions of TITO at heart.
TITO is about action. We actively fight against aggression; that's what we do. I think a delegate or anyone that hopes to represent the 10000 Islands would at least stand with TITO and the goals of our organization.
That is exactly what I was saying. I think that the UN delegate should have the best intentions of TITO in mind. Odracir feels that the only way to do this is to write a law saying that the UN delegate must be a member of TITO. It would benefit everyone, not just TITO nations.
