Hey mates, here are a few questions I've brewed up for the future BCN senator and my new successor! I'd also like to pop in a quick note to thank y'all for letting me work with the council in these past few months, it was pretty sick for the most part if I say so myself. 





Questions for both candidates

What experience have you had in regional government, and how will this help you during your term?


Do you have any big ideas for your term in your respective fields?

What experience have you had in regional government, and how will this help you during your term?
I have served as a house member in the region of Force. As such, I know a lot about drafting proposals.

Do you have any big ideas for your term in your respective fields?

• Creating a more consistent debate schedule
• Establishing a program to help newcomers to debate learn how to strengthen their debating skills(possibly working with the Minister of Education on this)

How active are you on Nation-states and it’s related sites? (XKI discord, Forum, etc…)
I am very active on NS and the XKI Discord. I am also an avid roleplayer and F7er. Feel free to TG me or DM me.

Will your political party influence your legislature decisions?
I'm independent! I'm not pushing any ideals and am a candidate for everyone. So, no.

Will you vote on said legislature decisions based on your preferences or what is better for the collective?
I will vote on what I think is best for the community.

How versed are you in XKI legislative law?
I am not very versed but I know enough to get by. I am currently going through the library to verse myself more thoroughly.

How will you build on the previous NRS senator’s efforts to improve forum activity?
I like what Dok has been doing. I can't answer this question directly because the Senator has been more geared towards debate then the whole forum in general to my knowledge. I would improve on what he has done to the debate subforum by creating new debate threads every week rather than whenever it seems like the previous one has died out.

Will you attempt to expand XKI’s debates into other areas? (Ex: The RMB)
If elected I will create two new channels on the discord for serious and more casual debating activities. The serious will be more similar to a courtroom: weekly prompts will be provided and the debaters will spit into teams of three. They will then "effort-post" on why their side is right so that a panel of the winners from the week before can decide who get's to be next weeks judge. The casual channel will be... more relaxed.

Will you hire a deputy senator for your term? If so, what criteria are you looking for to fit this possible new position?
Probably. The only current conditions are that they must be an active debater and active on the Discord.

What experience have you had in regional government, and how will this help you during your term?
I am a member of TIBOE, encouraging nations in XKI to endorse the delegate, as well as the cultural office assistant, helping out with cultural events (and helping with the bot trivia on Discord). Otherwise I haven't had a position in the regional government, but I'm willing to learn!

Do you have any big ideas for your term in your respective fields?
Just keep the activity in the debate halls going, that's the main focus. I really like debating, and I just want to see more activity there, more questions being asked from more people .

How active are you on Nation-states and it’s related sites? (XKI discord, Forum, etc…)
I'm in XKI for almost two years now. At the beginning I dwelled a lot in the RMB, though later on I did join the Discord server and am quite active there. I joined the forum last year, and became more activity recently this year, as I discovered different areas of the forum, including the interesting debate hall.

Will your political party influence your legislature decisions?
Although I am in a political party, I will not be greatly influenced by my political party.

Will you vote on said legislature decisions based on your preferences or what is better for the collective?
It is very important to know what nations in XKI desire for the region, however I believe that my voice, too, is also needed. I will therefore take both measures into account when deciding on legislation.

How versed are you in XKI legislative law?
I believe I do know at least a bit on XKI legislative law. I'm sure to go through more of it in the coming days

How will you build on the previous NRS senator’s efforts to improve forum activity?
Increasing the amount of debates in the debate hall! That is my main focus. The previous senator has done a great job, I would like to continue that! In addition, he started to use other sites, namely Discord, to generate interest in debates. I would like to build up on that, surely.

Will you attempt to expand XKI’s debates into other areas? (Ex: The RMB)
Although there are many people in the RMB, I do not think the RMB is an ideal place for a debate hall, as there are many other conversations in the mix alongside a potential debate. A debate could quickly be drowned out, which I don't really want to happen. I am thinking of having an expansion to the discord server, perhaps by adding a new channel, for those on the Discord server that would like to discuss debates but aren't on the forum.

Will you hire a deputy senator for your term? If so, what criteria are you looking for to fit this possible new position?
Yes, having a deputy is quite often handy. I will be looking for someone who is active in the debate halls, knows the community well, and is reliable.

What experience have you had in regional government, and how will this help you during your term?
Being the NRS deputy for the past 3 and a bit months, I already have been partly responsible for many of the duties that are required for the NRS senator, such as ensuring that there was a debate topic weekly (if one hadn’t already been posted) and running a larger scale debate event. With this experience, I already know a bit of what works well and what doesn’t, so I could use some of this when implying my own ideas as a senator.

Do you have any big ideas for your term in your respective fields?
I think we already have a lot of good participation in the debate hall. One new idea though could be maybe a rewards incentive, like public recognition to anyone who creates an engaging debate topic in the debate hall. The other one is revitalizing the election debate system, as I feel like there’s a bit of cooperation lacking where candidates debate ideas with each other and realize where the ideas could be made a bit better.

How active are you on Nation-states and their related sites? (XKI discord, Forum, etc…)
I’m active daily on Discord, a few times a week on the forum, and perhaps a few times a month on the XKI RMB. I have been consistently active on all three for my duties as a deputy and commander, but probably could try to be a bit more active for social engagement with others.

Will your political party influence your legislative decisions?
No.

Will you vote on said legislature decisions based on your preferences or what is better for the collective?
I’m gonna vote on legislation based on what I feel is best for XKI. I guess this will almost always line up with my preferences, as my personal preference tends to be to do what is best for XKI.

How versed are you in XKI legislative law?
I like pouring through old records so I feel like I’m somewhat familiar with laws, especially things that are more recent, relevant to my duties, and/or heavily debated (eg. NS 300-4, NS 319-1)

How will you build on the previous NRS senator’s efforts to improve forum activity?
Besides obviously continuing on what has in my opinion worked, I’ll intend to be more active in debates, as I think that will set a role model for others to participate in these debates. Also, implementing my big ideas.

Will you attempt to expand XKI’s debates into other areas? (Ex: The RMB)?
I think debates would clog up the RMB/Discord too much. The Discord already has a specific style of debate they specialize in (politics/current events), while running debates on the RMB would overlap probably too much with the role of the Pollster. I do plan to continue to use these areas to advertise debates on the forum, instead of trying to fragment debates between 3 different websites.

Will you hire a deputy senator for your term? If so, what criteria are you looking for to fit this possible new position?
Yes. I’ll look for someone who has ideally been active on the debate threads in the past, or maybe someone who has publicly announced good ideas for debates (eg. election candidates). I’ll avoid anyone that’s part of Silve’s ATA coup though.

Surfers are appalled at the amount of trash on the beaches and in the surf. Most of this garbage is generated by tourists. How will you maintain a pristine environment for surfers throughout the 10000 Islands (a growing demographic) without sacrificing a thriving tourist trade?

That is a fantastic question Jabberwocky
I, as many of my fellow regionmates, am dismayed at the unfortunate increase of rubbish at our beautiful beaches. This rubbish is unacceptable, both in terms of tourism and the environment. That is why there will be more binmen at the beaches, surveying the beaches, and ensuring that our pristine beaches stay pristine. Furthermore, it has come to my attention that there are not very many rubbish bins at the beaches. Therefore, more rubbish bins will be posted at the beaches. Not to worry, as they will be strategically placed so that they do not obscure the view of the sea, nor disturb the delicate beaches.

Appalling! Let’s all place a few trash cans around the beaches. Let’s go assign XKI researchers to create products that have less packaging. Let’s use our deep government coffers to pay people who are willing to volunteer a bit to help us clean up the trash.

A lot of this is because the people of XKI and the tourists you mentioned are not thinking green. If we were to work with our embassies to encourage(possibly with a monetary reward) the populace to use reusable bags, water bottles, and metal detectors(the person who uses unreusable MDs knows who they are) we would reduce the trash by a lot. We can also organize volunteer missions to clean up the trash that already is on the beach.
