If you can’t tell from this poll, I love watching musicals. A movie is great and all, but when you get to experience theatre live, it’s like a whole new world (Aladdin anyone?). The story and music comes alive. You can’t help but get drawn into the action, invested in the characters, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself humming the songs for weeks on end afterwards.
My favorite musical is The Music Man, though I might be a little biased since I saw it with Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster (the King and Queen of Broadway together! Fangirl freak-out moment…) starring. A lot of the other listed musicals (and a lot that aren’t included) are fantastic too! However, I will admit that more than a couple old-school references went over my head during Jersey Boys. Guess I’ve only ever heard of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons .
There are so many spectacular musicals out there; it’s impossible to choose just one favorite. That’s why you can select up to three of your favorite musicals in this poll! Once you’ve voted, feel free to comment down below and explain your choices.

I've only seen two of those listed. I loved Moulin Rouge. I liked Cabaret a lot, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. I saw a staging of A Man of La Mancha that swept me away. You see, I think I don't like musicals, but as soon as I start watching one, I get lost in it.

Hmmm....I don't really watch musicals... I do go to theatres to watch ballet. Giselle, the Nutcracker, among others. Very exquisite

Agreed, Les Mis just blew me away, not only with the overall production on Broadway but the musical number "Master Of The House."
A close second is Music Man with a lot of terrific songs. It's somewhat personal, too, as my daughter loved to march around the house to "76 Trombones" soon after learning to walk.
Finally, "The Producers" comes in third with its ingenious story/plot line and two of the funniest songs ever: "Springtime For Hitler" and "Prisoners of Love".

I really want to see Les Mis. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to Broadway when they’ve had a production going, and I’ve yet to have one staged near me. I plan to watch the movie adaptation, but I want to read the book first.

It’s actually the only one I’ve seen as a big proper production live in London, the film is really good though- not better or worse, just different! And less embarrassing to sing along to with the movie, with less risk of being thrown out of the building 😅
