After a week of voting, we have ourselves a winner for the June 2023 Poet Laureate Contest!
Join me in congratulating Pantso on their victory with Untitled as well as commiserating Aersoldorf (Thank You Friends) and Liberdon (Peg & Rocky)!

My best friend lives in Chicago
but that doesn't bother me.
She's always close by anyhow -
at least, to some degree.
We talk by text, or phone sometimes
whenever we have the need.
She worries for her family and
I stress about world greed.
We live so far away it seems
There's never time to meet.
But when we do I hug her hard
And then I feel complete.
The Poet Laureate Contest will be back in October, so keep up the creativity, Islanders!
