Injunct The Wellspring

A resolution to forbid a region's conversion to or from a Frontier.

The Security Council,



Recognising the place the Wellspring holds in the waves of the bygone days, as the first and for a time, sole fully functional frontier in the genesis of the Age of Frontiers, becoming the cradle for an unmatched wave of foundings in history,



Recalling the initial occupation that occurred in the Wellspring, its creation through the entrance of the North Pacific Army, later aided by their allies— whose initial goals of conquest softened at the sight of the spectacle of these new lands, in the dawn of which a few of the original occupiers would go on to make their own mark by establishing their own homes in this unclaimed soil,



Acknowledging that since then, the Wellspring has grown into a vibrant community of over 800 nations at the time of writing, established an independent democratic constitution and an elected government, formed meaningful relationships on the international stage as a leading Frontier in a changing world, and developed into a garden of imagination inspiring nations old and new alike,



Understanding the threat that has befallen the Wellspring in this new era, their state as a Frontier leaving them open to the pressing threat of a hostile governor transition, a particularly pressing peril given the vulturine menaces casting their shadows over the Wellspring and their allies,



Honoring the will of the people of The Wellspring to remain a safe and independent frontier community, so that it may continue to bloom and embellish the multiverse with its creative fluorescent tributes,



Wishing to protect and safeguard The Wellspring and its community from outside invaders who would vaingloriously poison its calming waters and trample its vibrant flowerbeds, depriving all worlds of its color and history for a fleeting moment of self-indulgence and misguided retribution,



Hereby injuncts The Wellspring.

The Wellspring is an active region with a well established infrastructure that can handle new nations. I don't understand why an injunction is needed. Tentatively against unless someone can convince me otherwise. I notice some traffic between them and LWU and TBH, though, which could be a clue.

I don’t know a lot about the Frontier/injunction/invasion stuff, but it seems like every other proposal to come from the Security Council is an injunction. What’s the point of having frontiers be somewhat riskier to run than a protected region if we’re going to protect them all? I’m all for sticking it to raiders, but if the big guys are asking for injunctions, then why not injunct everybody?

Feel free to tell me how wrong I am since I really haven’t done a lot of research or thinking into the Frontier stuff.

From the SC forum: this resolution appears to have native support. However, there are those who suggest the natives are from TNP. I'm waiting for more feedback.

It seems being a Frontier inherently carries certain risks.  Shouldn't the natives be prepared to assume those risks from the start rather than seeking protection?

So far as I can tell injunctions don't really protect regions; they prevent the region from transitioning to or from frontier status. An injuncted frontier can still be raided and taken over but the invaders couldn't turn it into a stronghold without repealing the injunction.

So, I’m assuming the point then is to keep raiders from being able to fully take the region over without repealing the injunction; it will still be a frontier, still have that vulnerability to another invasion. That softens my stance a little bit, but I’m still not sure about the parade of injunctions. The idea of choosing a more vulnerable region type and then asking for, at the very least, a slight protection irritates me a bit.

That's not an unreasonable stance. A large part of the resolution's argument appears to be based on the idea they've earned the right to ask for the injunction due to the size of their community, established government, and the lasting relationships they've established with other regions.

Personally I'm unfamiliar with The Wellspring, however if their claims have merit then I'm inclined to vote For.

Like Tymus, this kind of runs me the wrong way, but given the native support, I'll vote FOR; they have the right to decide for themselves. Note, however, that they aren't transitioning; they are already a frontier.
If it were simply a matter of protection, that might be better accomplished by not giving their Delegate executive power.

That's true; they aren't trying to transition. This appears to be a pre-emptive move to get an injunction to prevent a transition in the event they are raided and taken over - like what Carcasonne was asking for.
