Time for a new Chief Executive

Hi everyone,

A while back I posted a discussion thread, which was aimed at starting a conversation about a potential change in Chief Executive here in 10000 Islands. I'd like to thank all those who reached out with kind words. I really appreciate the thoughts and sentiments. I'd also like to thank those who reached out to start the conversation with me, it's been great to hear the ideas that sprang forth from these conversations. 10000 Islands has endless possibilities and I'm so happy we have a great community with members who want to contribute and build us up even further.

I have had the privilege of helping the region grow and respond to the changing game. I'm proud to have helped reform various aspects of the forum and get our frontier up and running. I hope that all that I have done in this second go at being Chief Executive has been good for the region. With this in mind, I think it is time that I pass on the mantle of Chief Executive to another Islander who has served the Islands in many different capacities. Lenlyvit is a dedicated Islander, former Delegate and incumbent senator. They have a vision for Islands which protects and strengthens TITO and keeps us moving forward.

As they are an incumbent senator, a special election for the New Republica South Senate seat will take place in line with the Senate Vacancy Act. I'll be taking over the role as Governor of A Taco Paradise and will begin that transition shortly.
United Royal Islands will be taking over as Regional Reserve Chairperson as well!

The transition will take a little while to go through everything and fully transfer over ownership of the Discord, forum and go through the role but we aim to have this completed before the Delegate election begins.

I'd like to thank you all for your support, encouragement and help during my time as Chief Executive. It has been an honour and a privilege.

In our constitution Article II: The Executive outlines the following:

2. The Chief Executive authority of 10000 Islands shall be vested in the Chief Executive. The Chief Executive shall hold Office for life, and shall be responsible for the conferral of the Chief Executive's authority to a successor of the Chief Executive's sole choosing.

To confirm I'll be conferring that power onto Lenlyvit. I wish Lenlyvit all the best in their new role! Once the transition has been formally completed I'll update you all.

Thank you for your service as Chief Executive Mark! Without a shadow of a doubt XKI is better for having you as our Chief Executive not only once, but twice. Your dedication to the region is legendary and I can only hope to match what you've given to XKI, although I'm not sure I would match you. You were a great CE!

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say a massive thank you for all your hard work and leadership. There have been many noticeable improvements during your time that have made XKI stronger and more sustainable. I have nothing but praise for you and hope you will still grace XKI with your presence.

I wanted to thank you for your dedication to this region; your commitment and time investment are legendary. Even though we’ve had our disagreements over things like transparency and foreign affairs, I can confidently say you are the single most positive force for the Islands that I have known during my time here. You show a capacity to make changes to XKI for the better, as seen in the Paffnia Rotunda and the transition of ATP, and for that I cannot thank you enough. You also show a resistance to change, and I think that that is almost as important: you ensure that when we do change something, it’s something that we really want to do. The Islands have fared well under your leadership and I’m sure they’ll continue to do so. I also want to thank you personally for taking a chance on me and making me the Minister of Labor on February 28, 2021, and for tolerating my schedule and activity levels that are admittedly very erratic. Enjoy your retirement. If anyone’s earned it, it’s you (and probably Grub).

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well! Firstly, thank you so much for your kind words above. It has warmed my heart.

Over the last few weeks, Lenlyvit and I have been completing transition arrangements and finalising the transfer of power. These have now been completed and I'd like to fully invoke Article 2 of our constitution.

I look forward to seeing how 10000 Islands will grow and develop in the future. Best of luck to Lenlyvit, as they take on this new role. Thank you to everyone for their support, guidance and dedication over my time as Chief Executive. It has been an honour and a privilege.
