Hello world! (no, I'm not a string of code)
I am here today to declare my bid for the New Republica South Seat, of which I promise to hold debates as fairly and as intriguing as possible!
I however, will make sure that while a current debate or poll is established, in the first day I will open a poll (just google forms) to collect what the people wish to know or debate about, and in the second to last, I will open a poll to ask fellow Islanders to vote on the issues given and determine which question will be the next answered! Futher answers will be given upon questions given by the public here!

Islanders, I am the clear choice to the New Republica South Seat, and I would be honored if you would give me your vote!

Hi WDO! Like I said to Wazeww, it's good to see someone new take a shot at the Council.

And like I said to Wazeww, I'm not looking for any particular answers here, I'm just interested in your response.

* What kinds of topics do you think you'll be posting in the Debate Hall? Will they be fun and silly, or will they be more serious?
* Do you have any specific ideas for laws that you'll be suggesting to the Council of 9? It's okay if you don't, I just think it's an important question to ask.
* This one is a bit more difficult: In the Co9, inter-regional politics and our relations to foreign regions will likely come up at some point. While XKI has always been strictly defender-oriented, we were viewed as a fairly isolationist region that only maintained strong relations with a small number of regions. This trajectory has changed a lot in the last ~10-12 years, and now more nations from more regions are spending more time with us through various channels. As an example, I was shocked to find out on my recent return that we have an embassy with Europeia, a region that TITO used to have a lot of heated battles with, and I don't think the Council 10 years ago would have agreed to such an embassy. Do you want to see this trajectory continue and have XKI be more open with more kinds of regions, or are you happy with the status quo we currently have?
* Lastly, this thread raises some issues with the Great Debate Hall in its current form. Do you think debates should move to Discord or stay on the forums?

Question 1:
The populace will almost always determine the topics at hand. As described by my initial statement, I will create a procedure that will perpetually supply debates/polls to the public, unless the public votes for the break for 1 week (yes I'll include that). If no one votes, votes are up to a tie that is three-way or more, or less than 3 people voted, I'll supply my prompt for the week. In the event of a two-way tie, I'll supply another poll that lasts for 24 hours and choose the one that won. Again, if the two-way tie is again tied, I'll choose the prompt.
On the topic of legality (Basically sensibility of topics at hand like current politics and other 16/18+ topics) I will defer to either guidelines or higher authority

Question 2:
As of now, no, but I will probably submit one if I feel that a law should be implemented.

Question 3:
While I am most obviously very green in this compared to other nations, I'll still give my opinion. The current status we have, like the massive amounts of embassies we have we other regions and regions we had a conflict with, is currently a good sign for this region. Understanding human relationships, if we manage to forge a relationship with another region, great! We have another ally with us. If a region is now allied with us rather than remaining as our opposition, even better. We have managed to overcome our differences and forge a relationship, something that will be stronger than steel.
We should be open to new partnerships, especially considering that we have TITO, and it cannot win against the Raiders alone. Therefore, the more allies we have, regardless of previous affiliation, will always help us.

Question 4:
The debate hall in its current form is somewhat messy. We have to scroll down to previous posts and threads to find what we used to have and is an extremely outdated website for the current age. Rather, if we move debates to discord, we would have an easier time navigating it and have more participation.
Therefore, we should move debates and polls to discord.

Really, it depends on the situation. 
If I know around a month in advance that I for some reason I will be gone for a week or more, I'll consider hiring one.
But considering my current plans for the next half year, I'll be here on hand. 
So no, I do not plan on hiring a deputy.
