Naoi: A Candidate for the People (4/04 Del. Elect)

These elections are very important, and are not to be taken likely. For this reason, I encourage anyone and everyone to ask me ANYTHING they want to ask me regarding anything that comes to your mind.

The nation of Naoi is a very active in several 10000 Islands discussions. I am an Assistant Minister of Education, and upon my arrival to 10000 Islands, I immediately pushed for stronger Immigration efforts...not knowing that the current Minister of Immigration was away at the time...but still, I've for this region since my arrival in early February.

10000 Islands is the first home for Naoi, and it has been a great first home. I want to do everything in my power to make it just as good for every nation, if not better.

I have done my best to serve 10000 Islands and make it as good a region to live in as possible. I've defended in every TITO mission I could possibly attend and have earned 6 Battle Stars in these short two months.

I've joined several a discussion, adding an opinion that would have otherwise gone unheard. Some cases arose in which I would completely disagree with a nation's opinion, but I always treated them fairly and with respect and listened to what they had to say.

I pushed for a Morale Department to boost the enthusiasm of all 10000 Islanders and to make this region ever more fun for all involved.

Most of all, I care. It is in my nature to care for all, and such as I will do if elected into the Delegate position.

I encourage all nations, regardless of seniority, to participate actively and to make their voices heard. The power of one is powerful indeed.

We, as a new nation, see you as very sincere, honest and eager. You always have our endorsement, regardless if it is "election time" or not.

I do have a question for you, however. Outside of your considerable accomplishments in 10K Islands since February, have you spent much time on the UN forum looking at debates, and dealing with the sharks? Or looked through proposals wanting time? I respect your eagerness to take on such a difficult and time-consuming task; I just wonder if you know what a mountainload of work you are wishing to bring upon yourself. And as far as the UN forum, some of those people are downright nasty and insulting.

Please do not take this as doubtful of your resolution or skill. I just wonder if you are truly prepared for this considerable and daunting task.

I plan to carry out the resolutions just as Parthini has.

I will ask the opinion of the people before making any desicions. I stand by my statements of hearing the voice of everyone. As a Delegate, this would be my job.

As for the insults...ha! I'm a teenager! That's my life!

I'm ready for any trials that may be ahead of me. I'm ready for anything that I can do to make 10000 Islands a better place for everyone!.

Resolution and skill are no problem for Naoi, no questions.

As for resolution, this guy is on here way too much. Seriously. In a cool way. I have seen him break barriers, taking on almost impossible tasks. The Ministry of Morale seems to be his greatest feat, which has as much support as any attempt at starting a new organization as any other has.

As for skill, this guy almost beat me into TITO, and I've been on for at least a month longer than him. He was in a government department before me too, and I yearned and craved for a seat in the Immigration Department, just ask Naoi.

Because of all this, and my lasting friendship with him, I will be endorsing Naoi for delegate. Not Naoi exclusively, my old endorsements still stand, but I still encourage you to allow this great nation to serve as your United Nations Delegate.

I, along with ALP, was recently asked if I were left or right winged in my politics. I find this question very hard to answer.

I don't believe it is fair to restrict anyone's beleifs within a single boundary, for one. We should be free to think upon any plain we choose.

If someone is declared left winged, they will begin to think with the left-wing mind set and try thier hardest not to believe anything said by a right-winger. This is bad, because then suggestions will not be taken in or expressed, even if on the inside someone believes them to be true.

I hold things like fair speech closer than my life even. If I were a fighter, I'd fight to my death for everyone to say and think as they feel across the world.

I try my best to understand everything that everybody has to say, no matter how rediculous their ideas or how much I disagree with them. Our voices are precious things to disregard.

If I had to say what my political stance was, I would probably say I'm liberal. Don't think that I've got some "liberal agenda" or anything, because honestly, I've never understood what people meant by that.

None the less, these are the ideals I plan to express openly and base my potential delegacy on.

After reviewing all platforms, I am of the opinion that Naoi is most able to judge equally and well. I am sure Naoi will rise to the wonderful example set by GPP.

I also suggest that Naoi continue Parthini's tradition of starting a poll and thread to discuss each UN resolution as it arrives.

If you would like an example as to how I would run things, please feel free to look at the "Ministry of Moral" thread. I drafted a proposal for the CON and used everybody's input when putting it together. This is exactly how I plan on being YOUR delegate. With your input, your ideas, and my dedication, we can make 10000 Islands an even better region for the future!

Although I voted for Boktavia, because I concluded he really deserved it for all he has done for our region, I would still like to say that I find Naoi's level of activity in the region also very admirable, especially considering the short time he has been with us. In my opinion he still has a long way to go to become UN Delegate, but I know he will get there some day.

To tell you the truth, when I entered this race, in my mind I had high doubts that I would win, or even be in such a close race as I am in right now. I'm honored to have the support of so many nations, and I thank every single one of you.

But I feel as though I have the responsibililty, dedication, energy, and mindset to be the delegate for you and everyone. Even as just a regular nation, I encourage all nations to do their best and to voice their opinions, no matter what it is they think. Recently, I've been trying to bring everybody's esteem back up.

Our numbers in 10000 Islands are dropping, and rather quickly. This is something we need to unite and work to bring up. We all need to set an example for every nation, new and old, that 10000 Islands does not quit for anything. We need to show everyone that we've got courage and determination, and I feel as though I would make a great example of that if elected.

With the help of people I have come to call my friends, the Ministry of Morale proposal was drafted. This is the kind of thing that we need to bring up the spirits of our fellow Islanders and bring unity and strength to our people!

If you want to see a change around here, if you want to see the people liking what they are doing, and if you want to see the determination that 10000 Islands' TITO is known for, then do me the honor of being your public servant. I will bring hope back to the people.

As of right now, I will be making an addition to my platform. If elected delegate, I plan to do my best to unify every nation and bring back the determination that made me fall in love with this region.

If you don't feel as though I could do this at a satisfactory level, then just look at my track record. No matter how much the odds were against me, and how bad they are against me right now even, I have then and will ALWAYS continue to fight on. This is something we must all do to show the rest of the world what we are and where we come from. It's the same determination that has made TITO the recognizable force that it has become! We should unite and work together! Stand for what we believe in until the very end! If TITO were to give up on missions half way through, then there would be many a region taken over.

This desicion is rather hard to make. Really, really hard to make actually.

After intense consideration, I've come to a harsh conclusion.

I want everyone to know that this desicion is not quitting on any of you, but it is in the best interest of all the freedom loving regions of NationStates, at least in my opinion.

I feel as though being the Delegate would hinder my abilities of helping regions in need. I would not be able to participate in TITO missions, and that is the very element that has made my passion and love for this region flare.

I am pulling myself out of the race for delegate. This is not because of a lack of support, because I've seen spoken support for me quite frequently, and I appreciate that even now! I do, however, plan on running in next months Senate elections. Also, Parthini is kind of needing to get out of the delegate thing.

Remember that I do this with the love of freedom and it's protection in my heart. So, that being said, everybody should proudly endorse your new Delegate, Boktavia!

Congratulations, Boktavia! Show us all that our faith has been justly placed upon you!

You are one of the most dedicated persons here, and I respect that. Your decision was amazing that you decided to step away from a position of authority, but it was also respectible because you did it for a valiant reason. I respect you Naoi.
