Well, I'm sure most of you know me, but just in case you don't...
I was the Minister of Immigration until I resigned about a week ago.
I'm the Political Parties Board moderator, and I started up and maintain the indexing system for new nations who want to join a party.
I'm a veteran sponsor in the New Nation Sponosorship Program, and I'm also soon to take part in a similar system pending Mandrill's contact.
I'm host to the longest-running "Anything you ever wanted to ask a..." thread (14 pages, woot woot!).
I'm outgoing, energetic, patient, articulate, and dedicated. I will always listen to the will of the people, as this is what the position of Senator should entail. As a Senator, I would work to benefit the great region of the 10000 Islands, with no concern for my personal political gain.

As of several minutes ago, the longest running thread (by Ad truly, instead of yours truly) is now 15 pages!
Anyway, onto my short interrogation.
What method(s) would you use, without being asked or prompted, to listen to what the people have to say and/or think? Would you be wait for nations to contact you, P/M them, make a thread they can post at, something else, or perhaps all?
How active do you think you'll be as a Senator (not just as a nation)?
How will you get the information the Council of Nine gives to you back out to the people?
That's all I can think of for the moment. Nice speech. Concise and to the point!

1) Methods: I would telegram random nations asking what they thought about certain issues, which would also try to get nation activity stimulated in regional politics. On certain less-than-confidential issues, I may post a thread asking for an opinion.
2) Activity: Probably more active as a Senator than as a nation. All I do with my nation now that I've resigned Immigration is deciding issues and TITO missions. As a Senator, I'd be more motivated to get the people's voice inside the Council.
3) Information: I would strive to make anything short of compromising regional security as open to the public as possible. I support the monthly Council activity reports, however, I feel that once a month is a bit too rare, as there is so much activity within the chambers. I would propose a report every two weeks, so the general population is more in touch with the way they are being governed.
As for the thread, it would have never happened without everyone's interest! I owe everyone for that credit...

I would like to take this opportunity to say that I fully support the non-UN viewers of the campaign board. Much kudos to Grub for allowing them to get their voice heard!

Absolutely no problem. One of my main goals of being a Senator would be to get everyone, not just UN members, to have at least their opinion fully voiced in the active government.
Maybe by allowing these nations to actually hold positions we are violating the security of the region. This is very unfortunate to the legitimate non-UN nations, but it is a sad thing that there are actually nations sick enough to manipulate other regions' governments by using non-UN proxies. It is their fault your voice is stifled, and it will be my responsibility to get your opinion into the Council.
I thank you all for your support in the poll, and I would appreciate your vote for Senate!
