As an upset and concerned citzen of 10K Islands, I, Jermyn, have decided to start a coalition of non UN nations to get non UN voices heard, so we can bring it to the senate and voice their concerns.

I believe & I think it is important that you stand up and be heard on what you want and what you believe in, even though you may not win or succeed.

The famous words of Eleanor Roosevelt - "When you have decided what you believe, what you feel must be done, have the courage to stand alone and be counted."

You can have coalitions, parades, telethons, benefit concerts, protests, and you can scream and shout all day long, but no matter what happens, Non UN members will *NEVER* be allowed to vote.

Any non UN nation that wishes to vote can do so by simply signing up for the UN. It's that simple.

If nations insist on "rights" for non UN nations, I suggest you read some of the threads by Fleeb, Yavanna, myself and others. If that still doesn't convince you that rights for non UN nation is a HORRIBLE idea, then I strongly suggest that you and your non UN friends jump on the fancy UN helicopters to start life in a new non UN powered region.

I am serious. This discussion has been going on for long enough. Giving any power to non UN nations is absolutely stupid. Nations that push such an idea either don't understand how this game works, are not the clearest of thinkers, or have an agenda that they are trying to push that seeks to harm the 10000 Islands. Jermyn, New Age Guilds, and Izdambodia, which of these do you fall under?

Let me say this one more time. Non UN nations will never be allowed to have power in this region. If you cannot accept this basic fact of NationStates life in the 10000 Islands, I encourage you to make your own region with your own rules so that you can see exactly what I mean first hand.

I am indeed disappointed at what Grub has to say. If I had to take responsibility in my actions, it would be for misjudging Naoi and to try and improve Sections 2.2.1. If this had to be about me and non-UN issues, then it can only be found on my website. If I have ever outright whine and whine about non-UN and them being able to vote, then I'll take responsibility. I want non-UNs to be able to just speak up. Not vote. Not have power. Just speak up. My intentions are to just allow non-UNs be able to become active, and for whatever reason why they are not in the UN, just to have fun. Voting is indefinitely out of the question up to this point. But if I have to take responsibility for trying my best to get non-UNs active, then I am fault of even starting the Liberal Party. I would have just joined the conservatives at the very beginning. Without your spies, your ambassadors, and your puppets, this region would not be celebrating its 600th nation today. I am, deeply disappointed to see how this mesage has been directly at me personally.

I stand behind non-UN nations banding together, but I also stand with Grub on the issue of voting. It would be far too easy for our opponents to influence our regional politics.

If you oppose the UN, join anyway. I can't stand the issues, I just laugh and vote no (when I do bother to vote). However, being a member of the UN verifies my allegiance to the 10000 Islands, as well as allows me to participate in the endorsement system, thus qualifying me for TITO.

Your voice should be heard, no question. It just will never be heard in the form of a vote tally.

Grub has a good point. A bunch of non-UN nations in your coalition would only whine and complain. It's not hard to join the UN, just apply for a position. The UN is there to govern and uphold the law, UN nations need to have power so that they can control lesser nations ("lesser" in terms of power, not ethnicity/gender).

I don´t understand why you aren´t a member of the UN. You clearly have some issues, which you like to debate. Rights for non-UN members being one of them. If you would like to have influence, go where it matters: THE UNITED NATIONS. There you can raise the issues (it would probably be beaten to the ground, but at least you tried.

I go with Grub. If you want influence, join the UN.

If you do not want your nation to be influenced by the UN, you can use a puppet. Alfonia does it, New Parthini and Fleeb have done.

Izdambodia and Jermyn have both left the Islands. Jermyn seems to have either defected or to have been a spy all along. They were the major force within the Liberal Party pushing for non-UN votes. I have disagreed with them for a long time, and have and still do oppose non-UN voting. So, basically, there won't be much of anybody DEMANDING!!!! non-UN votes.

Also, it's important to note that Jermyn's UN nation was deleted recently because it invaded and griefed a region using UN muliti's.
