I sort of know how the current Senators feel about immigration, but they can answer in this thread too if they want.
Question -- Our Immigration Dept. works hard and has a plan to recruit including our new SFTI program. How would you, as Senator, help to increase the immigration of good nations to the 10000 Islands?
A reward like that could work. I was in Immigration, and from my experience, it's very, very hard to say what brings nations in. Lebmania brought in many, many nations, whereas I was eventually shuffled out of Immigration mostly due to bad luck in getting people to come. It was quite random, so anything I say isn't guaranteed. However, I don't believe in dodging the question, so I'll give it a shot. I agree with NAG's idea to reward outstanding Immigration officers. This is awkward, though-I remember having to struggle to keep lists of invited nations and nations who actually came. Keeping lists would be the only way to do it, because, again, in my experience, telling them to say who sent them doesn't work. The way I would personally do it would be to have as much of the day covered as possible, while keeping individual shifts short; as it's difficult to keep constantly recruiting throughout an entire four-hour shift.

From my expierence in the Immigration Dept. and bieng a current member of SFTI I have definitly come to conclusion that nations very much care about how the Sender treats his people. I was rejected 15 to 20 times becuase I was a Compulsory Consumerist State. I plan to have nations make thier nations like Boktavia, exellent in everything. No one can disagree with. Also,m I would like to bring back the lottery system, It would help nations get som more incentive to joun the region.

The way I would try to increase the Power of 10k Islands is that I personally will go to every pacifics and talk to nations that are new and old. I would explain how 10k Islands works and rewards you get for your service. And that joining the TITO and SFTI will help you out and help the region out. What they are doing is a great thing.

I agree with increasing SFTI manpower. Immigration, from what I've heard, is a very hard, time consuming job and virtually also thankless.
The more nations we have involved in SFTI, the less work each member will have to do, especially where places like The Pacifics have nations created every minute.
Also, since Immigration is such a thankless job, I also agree with the implementation of a reward system. Maybe a medal or group of medals awarded for different levels of service would be appropriate. I dont think "battle stars" for immigration will work, since it will be too hard to maintain, either keeping the TITO and immigration stars separate in the one thread, or conversely having a separate thread for immigration. It will make Grub's job a nightmare.
But, I do think a few different medals for different levels of achievement and/or service would be quite appropriate.
As for increasing the power of SFTI, I will start doing my bit by offering my services to SFTI. Where do I sign up?

I think they we need to have a SFTI game. Whoever wishes to compete will try their hardest to recruit as many nations as possible. The first three nations to recruit lets say 20 nations that sign up for the boards gets some sort of award or medal and then those three receive some sort of official title. The three that win then are responsible for coming up with a new game to help keep people motivated in SFTI.
This is just an idea that I had and it could be changed around in any way deemed fit.

This is more about activity and UN, but this is the best place for my question, I think. Do you find it important to have nations join the UN? Also, should there be a program to get the less active UN nations joining TITO and endorsing TSNA (like the Correspondance program)?

I think it is more important to join the UN. More UN nations we have the more powerful the region is and more votes that votes for the resalutions have. We already have a program for the less active UN nations in the TITO. But we do need them to endorse TSNA.
