It is with great regret that I inform the nations of the 10000 Islands that we will no longer be members of the UN. There were many factors which played into our decision, one of which was the fact that the UN infringes on our national sovereignty. Also, we strongly disagree with the Euthanasia law that was passed a few weeks ago. We still look forward to a bright and prosperous future with the 10000 Islands. If Grub wants me to resign as Assistant Minister of Immigration, I will do so.
I just want to make it clear that I will continue to perform my duties as Assistant Minister of Immigration until Grub, who is the person that gave me the job in the first place, tells me to step aside. Only Grub has the power to remove me from my office, and so I won't officialy resign until ordered to do so.
I am officially resigning all duties, responsibilites, and titles that come with being Assistant Mininster of Immigration. I thank the 10000 Islands for allowing me to serve them as I have. Thank you all, and good luck.

I posted this on the message board earlier, but it is really important that nations in the different Ministerial branches stay in the UN. I thank you for your service as the Asst. Immigration Minister, and I hope you're not leaving. Even if you're not involved with Immigration I hope you'll still stick around.
Thank you for bringing that up. I will remain to be an active member of the 10000 Islands. I am not going to leave. I still look forward to a bright future for the 10000 Islands.

We as well are sad to see you leave the UN. I am glad that you were able to serve as Assistant Minister of Immigration. Since you have left the membership of the UN, and no longer hold the title of Assist. Min. Immigration, perhaps you might be interested in joing the UDA Party uda.proboards27.com

Though I do not agree with you on the issue of your resignation, I congratulate you on your commitment to a higher ethical standard. You did a good job.

For my service strengthening ties between Canada and the 10000 Islands.
You did us a really top job, Odracir, and I am glad you are staying with the 10000 Islands.
Ihope someday you will reconsider your decision about the UN. Many, perhaps most of us, feel as you do about UN resolutions--they are mostly at best a nuisance and at worst downright outrageous sometimes.
But membership in the UN, for all its negatives, are a key to the defense of every region, which is why we make a big deal about them. And we just have to blow off the rest of it. (Not a lot unlike most other governments....)

Although we have not agreed with issues in the past, I sympathize with your withdrawal from the UN. In recent days, considering the legislation passed on euthanasia and now on copyright laws, I have also found it extremely difficult to stay within the UN. Of course, I did not win my Senatorial bid, so there are far less consequences if I were to withdraw, so I think it extremely noble of you to sacrifice your position in order to maintain personal integrity and state sovereignty.
Even though Fleeb and Grub are somewhat right, that the resolutions are unenforceable and a nuisance, the fact remains that because of the euthanasia and copyright resolutions, I am in direct conflict with the UN. Unlike governments in the past, I try to stay moral and respect international law to the best of my ability. Now, I'm in direct and irreconcilable opposition with it.
I would've liked to think that my election to Senate would've strengthened our vote in the UN via our alliances. Perhaps I should propose this structure in more detail to the Senate.
In any case, I, too, am contemplating a withdrawal from the UN, but I'm finding it difficult because I believe in the UN and all of its aims. These stupid, violating resolutions have made it difficult to stay in, especially because I do value the UN's authority and some pooling of sovereignty. The point is, I greatly respect your decision.
This is where NS gets to be all too like the real world.
The System is not perfect. And never will be. All persons of good will find themselves offended by it sometimes, and perhaps even often.
But the System does work, will work. Much of its intrusiveness is illusion. You are free only to the extent you realize your own freedom despite the delusions of the System. That freedom grows as you learn to use the System for the ends and ideals you believe in. Do not let your idealism defeat your ideals. That way, at the end, lies cynicism.
Take the good that is there in the UN. Embrace it and use it. Disregard what it pretends are its powers, which it can never enforce. Does the mountain care that the silly mortal claims to own it?
You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

I am shocked and disheartened that you have made this decision. As Fleeb said, The UN is but a mere mortal walking upon the mountain. I hope that if you choose not to rejoin the UN you at least make a puppet to commence in TITO operations.
