A mate of mine, when he was applying for a job a few years back, got to interview stage and the standard questions about wages etc came up.
My friend then mentioned to the interviewer (who would also be his boss) that he was willing to work for 1 cent the first day, on the condition that his daily wage doubled for every day he was there, and after 30 days he would go onto normal wage.
The boss was really enthusiastic about this and eagerly went to see his legal advisor about getting the contract drawn up. Unfortunately, the legal advisor also happened to be an accountant, and his response was basically "No f___ing way" ...... he also said "Because you tried to trick us like that, you will never work for this department. However, I do admire your knowledge of numbers and therefore we will be more than happy to have you in the accounting department" ....
If anyone was to actually try this, I demand a 20% finders fee
