Why do we keep the silly 5-person requirement for creating a party?
In fact, nothing says you can not create a 2-people political organisation as long as you don't refer to it as a "party". This is silly because "the moderates" is just as much a good name as "the moderate party".
This reduces that rule to being nothing but a requirement that needs to be fulfilled until the state of the islands give you a licence to use that word. This is not a thing the state should be doing, and I feel we should work for this system's abandonment.
If there's anything that 5-person rule does, it's scaring people. We don't want that. More parties = more fun. At least in my eyes. Considering a party is a GROUP of people, I say most of us would understand this means 2 people, but it shouldn't be regulated. At least npt, i think we all can agree, until we have a bigger population. That rule was made up in order to promote a more uniform and collected political culture when our population was well over the 600 mark. I didn't even like that rule back then, but now I feel the need is greater than ever to get rid of it.
Anyhow, this is what i feel should be done. And yes, I am bored right now... that's why I'm writing down all these ideas. I ate some bad kebab... and topped it off with tacos. Don't ask, I think you know how my belly feels... I did it for the islands... couldn't say no to tacos with homemade salsa... poor me^^

You're right. And it is in keeping with our party's progressive image. Plus ALP is interested in breaking away from the UPP and forming a new party. I don't think he'll be able to without 4 others, and i don't think he'll get 4 others. Why not add this to our manifesto?
Actually, why not add this to our new Political Parties Forum Renewal measures plan. This could be Phase 1, or Phase 2....

I like this idea. The five man minimum always seemed kind of arbitrary to me, and you usually end up with less than five truly active members anyway, at least in my experience.
I feel the same way about ALP and his new party. Even though he has decided to break away I must say I stand behind his efforts.
I like the idea of doing a political renewal campaign, it could be good for the UPP too, seeing as it would make us more visible. I'm up to my neck in school stuff today but I'll try to log in later today so we can tal kthis through a bit more.

Likewise. Got to do a few hundred words on my history coursework today, amidst publishing the rich list, keeping on top of Immigration, the new film competition, UPP stuff and taco island mayhem! It's a lot...

there's a new film competition? I'll have to read about that...in any case, I'm definitly in favor of UPP supporting less stringent political party requirements. I've seen that Alf has applied in AoN and having an AoN proposal created that requests new freedoms on the 5 nation requirement might be a good idea.
