Presenting the House Cup and Shield

By unanimous vote of the Council of Nine I am pleased to present the House Cup and Shield plan to everyone. This idea was originally devised by Calanria and with a handful of edits is now here!

I present to you the House Cup system.

• The competition will run for a period of one month. The competition will begin one month after the election of the Lyonesse East Senator. It is the LE Senator's responsibility to build awareness among house leaders and in house threads about the competition leading up to the starting date.
  
  
• During the week leading up to the starting date, the LE Senator will remind House leaders to update their rosters. CTE nations will be placed in a separate section, and WA nations should have (WA) placed next to their name.
  
  
• During the period of the competition, participating nations will utilize the Accelerator to contact new nations and recruit them to the Islands.
  
  
• The Accelerator calculates a [monthly point total based on the recruiter's performance. At the end of the competition week, the LE Senator will access the "Top Recruiters" page of the Accelerator to determine the points accumulated by each participant. The LE Senator will then contact the Immigration Minister to receive the total for each recruiter of nations that came to XKI for the duration of the competition. The recruiter will earn twenty points for each successful recruit.
  
  
• The LE Senator will then add these points to a House Grand Total, each participant's points being added to their House's total. The House with the largest Grand Total wins the House Cup. The LE Senator will then calculate a per capita total based on the number of Accelerator-eligible nations in the House. The House with the largest per capita value wins the House Shield. These awards remain with the house until the next competition.

I have read the thread that discusses this, but I never knew that it will actually come into existence. Let the House Cup begin!

Also a note: this will not occur at all during the current term in office. The first House Cup Contest will be held during the next 4 month term

So this only happens once every four months? And what happens if we have a special election for the LE seat (ie. senator only serves 2 terms), will we have two competitions in those 4 months?

We can surmise that none of the Nine considered the discussions. Thank you for pointing out this concern.

I'm not sure what would happen exactly. I would assume however that only one of these competitions would be held per four months based on a regular election cycle. I guess that could be left open to the Senator in question and the sitting Council of Nine.

My understanding was that it would be calculated and awarded once a month, although once per term is probably a lot easier to manage. I'd say stick to the 4 month term even if a special election were held, but that's just my two cents. I'm open to other options.

Yeah, but that part was vague. And if you recall, I was the last voter and said that I only voted 'yes' because it was a done deal at that point. I was going to try to get the language cleared up.

To clarify how the points are determined:
