Hello everyone! This thread will play host to the house report threads of the future to fulfill requirements set forth by NS 344-1.
These reports will include Monthly House recruitment statistics and a bi monthly featured house section. They will also include a monthly game (excluding election months) that earns house points for the winning house!

Julys Featured House!

For the first featured house I thought I would visit the house I call home, I of course speak of the House of Markanite!

The House of Markanite was officially opened On May 21st in 2010. It was founded by Current Delegate Markanite , who in his time in the islands has experience in roles from being a TITO member to being the previous chief executive of the region!

Since its opening, the House of Markanite has housed 46 islanders, 39 of which have since CTEd for a variety of reasons. Currently 6 WA members reside within the house, with one non wa resident.

If you have not joined a house yet, and are curious in checking out Marks house or any of the others held within the islands, you can check out the house guide to see how it works and what houses are out there! You can also dm me directly as the house system falls under my sphere of responsibility.

The Monthly House Report Game!

Unfortunately, as defined by law the house game will not run this month due to the Lyonesse East Senator seat being up for election, stay tuned for next months report and game announcement!

House Feature

House of Louisistan

The house of Louisistan is one of XKI’s more successful houses in recent times. It was founded by Louisistan, who joined XKI in June of 2014. Happy 8th and a half anniversary!

Louisistan has had stints being an Officer in TITO, a Delegate to the World Assembly, a Senator in the Council, and a stint being the funniest person on the islands while being Mayor of Shelter’s Taco Island. You can still find Louisistan visiting Shelter’s Taco Island everyday or on our Discord scheming up executions uh let’s call it fun surprises with Commander Häme.

The house itself has been around since 2015. 42 (if I can count) nations have been members of it at some point, with 11 WA nations, 1 non-WA nations, and 30 CTEd nations.

House Feature

House of The Tasmanian Islands

The House of The Tasmanian Islands has been a great house with some victories as of late. It was founded by guess who, The Tasmanian Islands.

Tas is a gentle soul from down under. He was formerly a Minister of Education and quite obviously, a welcome buddy. He would often welcome hundreds of the nations y’all recruited every month and show them around XKI, ensuring they stayed around. Recently, the house’s stewardship was passed to Liberdon.

The house itself has been around since 2015. 27 nations have been members of it at some point, with 10 currently active WA nations.

House Feature

House of Echolilia

The House of Echolilia is a storied house, founded all the way back in 2011. With a fully functional kitchen and library, it’s a great place to read while having your midnight snack.

Echo is an experienced Islander, being around for many a full moon. He is a proud TITO Knight, having served the Islands valiantly for a long time. He and his house have also recruited many notable Islanders, including former delegate HumanSanity and current technical liaison HN67. When not busy on TITO missions, you can usually find Echo being a werewolf in a game of Mafia on Taco Island.

15 nations have been members of the House or Echolilia at some point, with 3 currently active WA nations.

June 2023 House Report

Hello Everyone,

This is my first House report as a Senator for Lyonesse East, which is an exciting challenge for me and I hope that during my Term I can further the membership of the Houses by posting both here on the forum and on the RMB. Celebrating the achievements of the Houses should be made available to as many as possible.

There is an event called the House Ribbon, I am looking to start the new challenge in July and as such I am currently open to ideas, if you have an exciting challenge that you want the Houses to compete in please let me know by the 25th June. Please message me here on the Forum or TG on NationStates.


Special Feature
From the House of Louisistan is a nation that has made exceptional efforts to recruit more nations to the region, this nation has sent an impressive 2019 Telegrams which has resulted in 23 new recruits in the last month. So instead of doing a piece on a house, I want to use this months report to celebrate the work undertaken by Jabberwocky.

I have approached Jabberwocky and asked them about how they became involved with Houses, and I am grateful to them for providing the following;

"I'd been a citizen of the 10000 Islands for a few months. I believe it was about the time I was Senior Senator of New Republica South when it occurred to me that a Senator should belong to a House. I took a quick look at the existing Houses. You might say I went House hunting. House Louisistan seemed the best fit for my temperament and personality.

Joining a House gave me a sense of proprietorship, which is to say it gave me a feeling of belonging to XKI, in much the same way as joining a political party. Feeling proprietary toward my House is what led me to volunteer to be House Steward.

To the newcomer who is hesitant, my advice would be to do the thing: examine each House and pick what feels right. It's a great way to get involved."
