Ater Nox departs as Mayor of Taco Island

An unprecedented event occurred today on Taco Island, Ater Nox's Taco Island Mansion guards today opened the gates to the grounds to admit a wild band of ruffians led by our very own Louisistan.

The mob had assembled in protest of Ater Nox's restrictive laws on the positioning of stamps on letters. Ater Nox was unaware of his guards support of stamp sticking freedom and was unprepared for the revolt.

Recent intelligence has indicated that Ater Nox has been detained in a luxuries stamp and letter themed mansion on the shores of 10000 Islands' finest beaches to enjoy his retirement.

A short message from the newly 'democratically elected' Mayor @lousistan will follow shortly.

as I look down in disgust at this magnificent crowd, I am very pleased to be named your supreme overlord Mayor today. Chief Executive Markanite has displayed an exceptional susceptibility to bribes wisdom well beyond his youthful and incredibly handsome years in appointing me to this honourable position.

Citizens, do not be alarmed by this abrupt change in leadership. Rest assured that former Mayor Ater Nox is alive and well and enjoying his well-deserved retirement in the Tanzoria Asylum for the Criminally Insane. We thank him for his... well let's call it "service" to Tavo Island. Due to the sudden nature of this outrageous coup d’état transition, I’m afraid construction of my mansion has not been completed yet mostly because the contractors ran away with all the tax money I gave them to build it. Obviously, getting this done will be my first order of business, so that I can spit down on all of you bathe in the luxuries that befit this humble position properly represent Taco Island to the world. Taxes will be raised 10% on the poorest and 8% on everyone else in order to make this happen.

When I first came to this island and appointed myself Taco Island City Clerk despite Mayor Aersoldorf's insistent orders not to do so, I would never have dreamt that I would once become Mayor myself. Not even when I created an underground militia to overthrow him would I have thought I could ever become one of his successors. This is an overwhelminig experience for me.

As is customary in this sort of situation, I have instructed TIPD to immediately investigate by predecessor to uncover any misconduct to ensure a continuing supply of blackmail money the integrity of the office.. This of course is part of an ongoing plot to discredit him to the public so as to make sure he will never return to this office. I’ve also issued an arrest warrant against Aschente because he was mean to me earlier this week on Discord.

I ask you now to go about your business as usual or risk being snatched away by the Taco Island Intelligence Agency.

My lawyers informed me that I should refrain from making a statement, so I fired them all for telling me what to do. During my time as Mayor, Taco Island prospered under unprecedented increases in standards of living, housing, wealth for all of the Mayor of Taco Island. As that popular saying goes, what's best for Mayor Ater Nox is best for all Taco Island. After the disastrous, corruption filled years of the Aersoldorf Mayorship, I brought in heavy new regulations to ensure Taco Island became a beacon of transparency and outlawed bribery (This fact may have never been made public knowledge, but I totally promise I did). The legal bribery had stopped, people, thanks to me. If you wish to thank me in monetary form, you all know my offshore bank 'donations' account.

And what is the first act of this so called 'Louisistan'? To raise taxes. To raise taxes, ladies and gentlemen. Under my leadership, Taco Island saw its lowest tax rates (for the serving mayor). People of Taco Island, it is clear that a new age of dictatorship, tyranny, and general poor governance has begun. I ask you, is that the Taco Island way?

Despite these extremely scandalous events, you will still see me around Taco Island. Mostly because I spent a lot of public funds on building statues of me, but also because I'll be there.
